Studied
Marine Biology at UCN and presently is enrolled as a
M.Sc. student in the Faculty of Marine Science at UCN (MSc candidate).
His main interests are in the reproductive biology of
rock shrimp, which was the topic of his undergraduate
thesis. He now is studying the temporal succession of
floating algae and the fauna associated with them in the south of Chile (X and XI región). His
hobbies are nature photography, which he uses to raise
interests in the common public for biological conservation.
Occasionally he escapes into higher spheres with paragliders and Flying Hang gliders along the coastal mountains of the Coquimbo region.

| Nelson Vásquez Farreaut. Marine Biologist, his studies were realised in the
Universidad Católica del Norte (Coquimbo, Chile). Since 2001 he is working
like a research assistant in a project about the distribution and dispersal
of marine macrofauna with direct development. His principal interest is the
education and scientific outreach. In this area he made a project named "Acuarios interactivos" (click here). with the propose to give a knowledge about the
biodiversity of the marine organisms that exist in this region.
Additionally this work communicates the scientific role that is related to
the marine science. |
